Best SUV Lease Deal Ever?

Since we started publishing these Monthly Car Lease ratings using our unique LVR (Lease Value Ratio) formula, SUV's have typically not ranked very well except for the Toyota RAV4 which had some incredible lease specials 12-18 months ago. While this month's winner, the Chevy Traverse is only FWD, it offers a lot of SUV for the money. The Traverse carries a $30,240 sticker price but leases for only $299.00 a month with no money down for 39 months. The 39 month lease term is a bit odd, but is certainly no reason to take advantage of this special offer if you're in the market for the utility of an SUV and not too concerned with the lack for AWD. Right there with the Traverse is the Chevy Malibu Lease: Just $229.00 a month and nothing down gets you into a $22,755 car for 39 months.  This is all great news for Chevy fans. Just 15 months ago, there was no leasing available from GM at all. Now, we've got the two top lease deals for December, both owned by Chevrolet.

Car Lease Deals November 2012

Toyota Highlander Lease OfferI've located some unusually good SUV lease offers to account for their popularity during the fall and winter months. Traditionally, lease offers on SUVs has been kind of weak outside of the popular RAV4 which nearly always finished near the top of the car lease rankings. This month things have improved for SUV lease enthusiasts. The most notable deal is the 2012 Toyota Highlander which leases for just $339 a month and $2400 down payment. As always, my advice is to keep your $2400 in the bank and make the higher average car payment of $405.67. Either way, the Highlander has a top LVR (Lease Value Ratio) Rating of 1.10%.  It is rare to see an LVR this low for SUVs,especially for the larger models like the Highlander. But, the news gets even better. This offer is not for a stripped down base model. The MSRP on this offer is nearly $37,000 which will get you a pretty well equipped, AWD Model.

2012 Hyundai Genesis

Wouldn't it make sense to rate the lease deals on 2012 Model Cars before the 2011 year is over? Since late summer, many new, 2012 model cars have already been released with special leasing and financing incentives. While researching the monthly car lease ratings for the past couple of months, I've noticed that the lease offers on both 2011 and 2012 model cars are often listed side-by-side, with the 2012 usually being the more expensive deal of the two. In cases when where the 2012 model year offers nothing new, it really doesn't make a whole lot of sense to pay more for the newer model. For that reason, I thought it would be worthwhile to rate the lease offers on 2012 Model cars which offer either a similar or better payment than the 2011 models or offer something substantially new in design, functions and features.

0 APR Car Deals October 2012

Mazda 2 For $235 MonthIt's been a while since I've published a segment on 0 APR Car Deals. In some cases, these no-interest car loans make more sense than a lease; especially those with the 60 month and 72 month terms. But, there is one thing to keep in mind with 0 APR Car Deals:  The car makers and dealers offering them are still making money on the car. So, how do they do it? They make their money on the sales price of the car. Consider this example of a no-interest loan at full MSRP vs a low-interest loan for a car sold at a traditional, low interest rate.
