Are American Cars Worth Leasing?

This is an interesting question. Leasing Cars is heavily based on the resale value of the car you are considering. American cars have lagged well behind much of the foreign competition in resale value the last 30 years or so. For that reason, there are plenty of people who refuse to purchase or lease American cars. On the other hand, there are plenty of people who refuse to buy or lease Japanese, German or Sweden cars, so who is right? The answer might surprise you. A monthly payment is a monthly payment, regardless of how much the car is worth after 5, 7 or 10 years.

Leasing, if the payment is right, actually makes the most sense for those who are fond of American cars. Like it or not, if you own an American car, it will lose its value much more quickly than a foreign car. For example, if you want to keep a Chevy, Ford, Dodge or Chrysler longer than 5 years, it will not be worth as much as a similarly priced Honda, Subaru, Mazda or Nissan. Whether you appreciate the value of that American car more than its foreign counterpart is irrelevant to the way it affects your pocket book after 5 years. If you really love American cars, but don't want to absorb their inferior depreciation hit, then finding a sensible car lease is the way to go. Finally, Chevrolet, Buick and Cadillac are offering some Car Lease Specials that make sense. The Cadillac RWD CTS Sedan is as competitive if not more so than any luxury car you'll find in a Japanese or German Import. Cadillac is offering a very intriguing Lease Special on the CTS Sedan: $429 a month and no money down. That's an LVR Ratio of just 1.15% for a car that retails for $37,290.00. Want something that will give a Camry or Accord a run for its money? Take a look at the 2010 Malibu LS. Just $199.00 per month and $2119 down for 39 months. The 39-month term is a bit quirky, but if you want to unload the car after 36 months, I'm sure you'll find a Chevrolet dealer who appreciates your loyalty enough to get you out of that lease and into something new.

If you're wondering how a car that loses its value much quicker can lease as competitively as a Japanese import that's a fair question. Usually the answer has to do with incentives, rebates and kick-backs from the car maker. It may or may not make sense for the Chevy, Ford, Chrysler or Cadillac, but that's not your concern. You'll be in and out of that car in less than 39 months. Using the LVR Formula of Monthly Car Lease Specials, you'll know what kind of deal you're getting, either way. If American Car Companies are willing to give you as much or more for the same and you really do enjoy American cars, then you owe it to yourself to look at Monthly Car Lease Specials like these:
