How to Lease a Car

Negotiate a Car Lease

Negotiate a Car Lease

Are you thinking about leasing a car for the first time? One thing to remember:
Leasing is a negotiable sales transaction; just as is a car purchase. These days, most car leases are closed-end leases. If you are sure that you will drive the car within your agreed upon mileage (usually between 10,000 and 12,000 miles per year), the risks in leasing are no different than buying a car with a loan. The goal is simple: Get the car you want at the lowest possibly monthly payment, with little or nothing down. There are several financial factors that go into calculating a lease payment, but really, there are only three things that you will need to know to negotiate a good car lease deal. Nissan vs Toyota Car Lease Comparison

Toyota Vs Nissan Lease Comparison

Toyota Vs Nissan Lease Comparison

Earlier this month, the monthly specials from Nissan and Toyota didn't become available to me in time for my November Monthly Car Lease Ratings. I promised that I would do an update lease feature later this month. What better way to do it then to have a Car Lease showdown between two of the most popular Japanese Imports? Both Toyota and Nissan have frequently made the top of the list in my monthly lease ratings. Since the Toyota Camry has won two of the last three monthly lease ratings, it's a great time for a showdown between Nissan and Toyota. Read the rest of this entry »

Luxury Car Lease Comparison

Luxury Car Lease Comparison

As I completed the spreadsheet for the Top-10 Car Leases for November, I thought it would be interesting to do a comparison feature on luxury cars. This particular car lease comparison feature is for cars $40,000 and above. Unfortunately, not all car makers are publicly listing lease offers these days. So, if you are wondering why Lexus and Mercedez Benz are being left out of my car lease ratings comparisons, I am wondering the very same thing. Unfortunately, neither Lexus nor Mercedes are advertising any lease specials this month. I have no doubt I could visit my Stevenson Lexus Dealer in nearby Lakewood, CO and get a lease quote, but for some reason Lexus is not advertising any specials online. Mercedes did have some lease offers recently, so I will assume they will be back online soon.

Car Lease Calculator: iLeaseMyCarPro

Lease Payment Calculator

Lease Payment Calculator

iLeaseMyCarPro Lease Payment Calculator

As a Car Leasing Geek with an iPhone, I am always interested in the latest car financing gadgetry. The other day I thought to myself, “Surely, there must be some kind of cool car financing app. or car lease calculator to use on the iPhone." To my delight, I discovered, iLeaseMyCar Pro. Before I spent the reasonable some of $2.99, I decided to read some of the reviewers by end-users of the product. I was not surprised to learn that at least half of the users reviewing the product were car salesmen. What a natural fit that iLeaseMyCarPro would be for any car salesman with an iPhone. Because of the complicated calculations that go into leasing, car salesmen are usually not real good at estimating lease payments for potential customers on the fly. I can’t tell you how many times I was curious about a car, but didn’t want to walk into a sales office and be taken through the ringer just to get a payment estimate. iLeaseMyCar Pro is an excellent tool for both salesperson and customer. Best Car Lease For November 2009

Best Car Lease

Best Car Lease

I've made a game of trying to get these Monthly Lease Specials posted by the 5th of each new month.  Some of the Car manufacturers are not playing my game and have chosen to mix things up a bit with their lease offers.  For instance, Toyota is extending last month's leases through November 16th. I've not been able to find lease specials for Lexus for the last several months, and as of November 5th, neither Nissan or Mercedes-Benz are advertising any lease specials. If you know me, I'm a timely guy and take pride in getting my Best Car Lease and Lease Ratings published by the 5th of every new month. It's almost as if these car makers are doing this on purpose to make things difficult for me. Maybe Mercedes and Lexus don't like being judged by their Lease Offers every month. I decided there's no harm in going ahead and publishing what I have, without Nissan and Toyota car lease specials this time. This gives me a good excuse to post another article as soon as they do announce some new lease offers. Expect to see an update at least by November 16th when the current Toyota Lease Special expires.
